On the 5th of October 2022, SUSTCERT4BIOBASED participated successfully in the Projects2Projects workshop in Brussels. The P2P workshop was organized as a satellite event of the High-Level Bioeconomy Conference  “Bioeconomy – Enabling the European Green Deal in Challenging Times” by the European Bioeconomy Network in collaboration with the European Commission and the projects Transition2Bio, BIOEASTsUP, BIObec, and BioGov.net.

The session was organized into four thematic working groups with different topics:

  1. enabling the bioeconomy ecosystem at European, National and Regional level (governance perspective)
  2. enabling the bioeconomy ecosystem at European, National and Regional level (boost circular economy and bioeconomy sectors perspective)
  3. standardisation, certification, labelling and monitoring
  4. bioeconomy communication and education/future skills for the bioeconomy

The expected impact of the workshop was to improve the quality and impact of projects’ activities for the next months, facilitating collaboration among ongoing, concluded, and recently funded projects.

What has SUSTCERT4BIOBASED achieved at the workshop?

SUSTCERT4BIOBASED, STAR4BBI, HARMONITOR, 3-CO, and the SUSTRACK Project were grouped together under the same thematic area of “standardization, certification, labeling, and monitoring” and shared their project plans, exchanged ideas as well as discussed opportunities to collaborate further. They also exchanged ideas with other H2020 projects with a focus on the bioeconomy that presented their achievements and lessons learned relating to communication, education, and stakeholder engagement.

The P2P workshop was a great opportunity to meet and collaborate with other bioeconomy projects, create synergies and find ways to collaborate and disseminate the project’s results to a wider audience.

Mariana Lopez, SUSTCERT4BIOBASED’s representative during the workshop, shared with us that “It was great to meet and learn about other bioeconomy projects!”
