In the pursuit of robust and effective sustainability certifications for bio-based systems, the three projects selected under the call “ZEROPOLLUTION-01-07: International and EU sustainability certification schemes for bio-based systems”: SUSTCERT4BIOBASED, STAR4BBS and HARMONITOR joined forces to form a project cluster named BiobasedCert. The BiobasedCert cluster hosted its first online co-creation event on 11 December 2023 from 10-12.30 am CET with 52 participants!
This first co-creation event “Robust and Effective Sustainability Certification for Bio-based Systems” presented the latest developments and intermediate results of the Joint Monitoring System (JMS), gathered feedback from various stakeholders on the system, content and outcome levels and introduced a HARMONITOR collaborative platform aimed at fostering dialogue among sustainability certification schemes and labels (CSLs).
The online co-creation event on 11 December 2023 from 10-12.30 am CET was structured to provide a comprehensive overview of key aspects related to sustainability certification in bio-based systems and to stimulate insightful discussions with valuable feedback on the different aspects of the JMS. Here’s a glimpse into how it unfolded!
The event kicked off with a brief cluster introduction, setting the stage for the discussions. Then a deeper dive into the current development of the Joint Monitoring System (JMS), offering insights into the meaning of minimum requirements are requirements that schemes should meet to be considered robust, the indicators to be included in the JMS and the evaluation structure of it.
Each level responsible presented high-level information on the selection of the indicators that match the purposes of each aspect that they are responsible for and received feedback on their selection.
The first of the joint BiobasedCert events was a success and the feedback received was positive. Stay tuned for our next joint endeavors in communicating the latest JMS developments related to robust and effective sustainability certifications for bio-based systems.
